Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Ministries creates opportunity for refugees fleeing war, terror, and persecution to build new lives of safety, dignity, and self-reliance.

The Women's Empowernment Program's (WEP) mission is to meet the specific needs of refugee and immigrant women. The WEP strives to help women become self- sufficient while also fostering community building. From decreasing social isolation and facilitating clients' achievement, to increasing English language skills and enhancing employability, WEP works in partnership with women to help empower their integration into mainstream US culture with respect to their traditions, culture, and religious beliefs.

New Dreams. New Hopes. New Horizons.

When you purchase from the New Hope Women’s Sewing Cooperative you can be certain that you are directly contributing to the advancement of refugee and immigrant women. In the spirit of fair trade, each woman receives 50% of the proceeds from her items sold, while the remaining 50% is used to fund the daily needs of the cooperative. All items are hand made, one of a kind items.  Crafted using skills brought from home or new skills aquired since arriving in the USA, all our products are vibrant, unique and offer hope to our refugee ladies.

The cooperative is the only income generating opportunity accessible to many of our refugee ladies. In addition to providing the women with very useful hands-on skills and the opportunity for financial gain, New Hope offers a place of inspiration to many.

The Women's Empowerment Program and the New Hope Sewing Cooperative are supported by the Office of Refugee Resettlement, Illinois Department of Human Services, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, The Polk Bros Foundation, and individual donors. Make a contribution today !
